Belt system comes with 2 options:

AP-GONAD - Contains the Belt and Gonad Shield, 9½" x 7½"

APGS-OL - Contains the Belt, the Gonad Shield, 9½" x 7½" & 3 Ovarian Shields, 1) 7½" x 6¼" and 2) 5½" x 4¼" as shown in picture.

The shields can be used for added protection under the apron or for patient use. They have .50mm equivalency protection in a non-lead, environmentally friendly material. The belt, which can be adjusted out to nearly 55", has a buckle closure.

Biodex Figleaf Gonad Shields.

Figleaf Gonad Shields for Women
Proper shielding is vital to any woman of childbearing age and her offspring. The Figleaf Gonad Shields effectively protect female reproductive organs during pelvic radiography, angiography and fluoroscopy. Unlike most shielding devices for the ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes, our Figleaf Gonad Shields DO NOT obscure diagnostically important surrounding bone structures.

Maximum Protection
Figleaf provides the protective shielding of 1.0mm lead equivalency and consistently blocks a minimum of 65% of all direct-beam radiation to gonadal tissues and significantly reduces scatter to vital organ areas.

HOW TO USE THE FIGLEAF:
Proper positioning of Figleaf places the shield's vertical line directly on the mid-sagittal line of the patient's abdomen – with the bottom edge of the shield aligned 1/2" (1.3 cm) to 3/4" (2.0 cm) above the pubic symphysis. When properly positioned, the Figleaf is secured to the skin or to close-fitting undergarments with microspore tape for best results.

Selection of the correct-size Figleaf is based upon the patient's abdominal thicknesses. When the Figleaf is positioned on the patient, the shield is separated by some distance from the ovaries and by an even greater distance from the x-ray film surface. This causes magnification of the shield shadow at the level of the ovaries and even more magnification at the film surface. By factoring magnification, a small Figleaf can be used to give complete gonadal shielding without obscuring pelvic bone.

A specialty shielding product from Infab specifically for radiation protection of the mammary glands. Designed to be utilized as patient protection shielding or can be worn under a lead apron for additional protection for the radiographer. Manufactured with a full 0.40mm Pb equivalent of protection. GONAD SHIELD SETS

This three-piece set offers 0.5mm lead equivalent protection with hook & loop belt for attachment. Wall hanger is included. The hook & loop strip wall hanger attaches to the wall by a hook, nail or screw. Gonad shields attach to the hanger by attaching the shields hook & loop strip to that on the wall hangers. Sizes include: Small 4½" x 5½", Medium 6¾" x 8" and Large 7¾" x 10".
